Kristen Amanda

Born in Minnesota with Norwegian and German roots, Kristen Amanda is a self-taught artist whose work celebrates the quiet beauty of life and the shared moments that connect us all. Painting since the age of eleven, she has built a lifelong career in the arts while raising four children as a single mother—an act of resilience and devotion that imbues her practice with empathy and strength.

Kristen’s paintings are inspired by nature and the sacred relationships between people, animals, and the living world. Working across acrylic, plaster, oil, and mixed media, she captures both the serenity and intensity of human experience—joy, loss, wonder, and renewal. Her art invites viewers to pause and rediscover the extraordinary within the everyday.

Over the past several decades, Kristen has completed an extensive body of commissioned works for public and private spaces, including frescoes at the University of St. Thomas and murals throughout Wayzata, Excelsior, Minnetonka, and Minneapolis. Her career has also led her abroad for private commissions in Europe, and her work has been featured in exhibitions at institutions such as the Minneapolis Institute of Arts.

As both an artist and mentor, Kristen continues to share her creative curiosity and love for beauty, leaving an enduring mark on the artistic landscape of Minnesota and beyond.
